Amie - owner and fitness/wellness coach

Hi, I’m Amie - a certified personal trainer, wellness and nutrition coach, single mom, and dog mom to a pup with epilepsy.

Just a few years ago, I was dealing with a multitude of autoimmune issues, nervous system dysregulation, and the stress of trying to hold everything together. Through wellness practices, mental health support, and somatic therapy, I found my way back to feeling strong, calm, and connected.

I started Ascend Training not just to help other women feel strong and capable, but also to create a life where I had more freedom - to travel, to be with my kids, and to navigate single motherhood on my own terms. This website and blog are where I share on-the-go fitness programs, practical wellness tips, real-life travel experiences (including how I travel with kids and my dog), and insights into my own healing journey. This is a space dedicated to women who are trying to take care of themselves - while managing careers, families, pets, and everything else life throws at them.

Life can be overwhelming, but your health, peace, and freedom matter most. You’re not alone, and you don’t need everything figured out. I’m here to help you feel, move, and live better.

My Approach

My approach to Personal Training has evolved into a comprehensive model that addresses accountability and motivation challenges many clients face, especially due to past injuries, time constraints, and health issues. Discomfort in exercise often stems from improper movement patterns, leading to imbalances and injuries. I aim to help clients correct these patterns, exercise pain-free, and develop a positive mindset for personalized fitness success.

Wellness encompasses more than physical fitness; it includes mental well-being, mindfulness, stress management, and self-compassion. By fostering a healthy relationship with movement, clients can achieve physical goals while building confidence and resilience for long-term wellness.

At Ascend Training and Wellness, I work with diverse women aged 25 to 80, tailoring programs to their unique goals and needs. I believe fitness should be personalized, whether the focus is on mobility, strength, or overall wellness, providing the necessary support to achieve personal milestones.
